Ambient and symphonic, Cerfilic’s second album release ‘Stilled’ moves and shapes like the weather or a process of crystallisation. Nothing changes - everything changes. Time suspends.

Borrowing principles from the process of X-Ray Crystallography, this version of Stilled running at just over an hour long is an extract from an ongoing piece of variable duration. So far the longest performance of Stilled has been twelve hours.

All of the sounds in Stilled originate from a ‘seed’ for multiple violins that is then stretched, compacted, shaped and shifted by electronics from a current bank of about sixty different versions of the ‘seed’. Layers are combined, obscured and revealed over the course of time. These layers and the music arising out of their various combinations were originally commissioned by Fevered Sleep for the durational performance piece ‘Stilled’
